Time to Think, Write, and Create

I had a sabbatical during the fall semester of 2009. It was a time for thinking, writing, exploring/experimenting with the new Web 2.0 tools, classifying them and collaborating with like-minded people about the emergent technologies.

I completed my Smartboard certification in New York. It was quite an experience! I had to take a pre-certification training, pass a pre-training test, create a few files on my own, then take a 3 day training and pass a post-training test to be certified. I DID it! I was certified in September. And I immediately was immersed in designing my workshops and training others. I did it before. It was not difficult for me! I had my KDP training workshop in November after I returned from Russia and had a week in the US before my next European trip.

I wrote and published a number of research articles, presented at the International conferences, ran workshops and collaborated in the International projects. An exciting time!

My best accomplishment of this release from teaching time is thinking and summarizing my thoughts about teaching and learning in a meaningful way --- in writing articles and in sharing my thoughts with educators from all over the world. I confirmed my beliefs about education, about the importance and the crucial role of technology in learning and teaching. My next posts will be about my observations and revelations about teaching and learning in digital era!
